Operation Santa Claus at JFK Airport, Port Authority Hanger #19: Over 4,000 special children are entertained in a hanger provided by the Port Authority Police. They are served lunch and refreshments, receive toys and watch Macy’s Santa Claus arrive via Delta Air Lines shuttle while they celebrate the season. It is a spectacular experience.
Adopt-a-Hospital/Christmas Eve & Chanukah: This activity provides gifts for children at Area Hospitals: Long Island College Hospital, Brooklyn Hospital, Luthern Medical Center, Brookdale Hospital, Kings County and Battered Women’s Shelter.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus at Madison Square Garden: Over 4,000 special children are entertained by the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s Greatest Show on Earth; toys are distributed.
Deno's Wonder Wheel, Coney Island, Brooklyn : Over 2,800 children enjoy games, rides, clowns and a boxed lunch at Brooklyn’s Coney Island.

Adventurer's Family Entertainment Center: Special children enjoy games, rides, clowns and a boxed lunch.
In the Past: Nellie Bly AmusementPark. We continue to thank Gina Romano & Family for 40 years of love and dedication to our special children. A special thank you for donating the Nellie Bly Train to our "Operation Santa Claus" party.
The New York Aquarium, Coney Island, Brooklyn: Special kids from all boroughs tour the flora and fauna of the sea world. There is a private show, with a boxed lunch and a toy for every child.
The Bronx Zoo: Two thousand special children from the Bronx and Manhattan spend a fun-filled day at this world renown facility. Lunch is provided and toys distributed.
The Prospect Park Zoo, Brooklyn: Special children enjoy visiting the animals and going on rides. Boxed lunches are provided.
The Brooklyn & Queens Botanic Gardens: This event is especially enjoyed by the blind children. They are individually guided by the Botanic Gardens’ staff on how to pot a small plant, which they get to take home. Boxed lunches are provided.
The Staten Island Zoo: Several hundred special childen enjoy the animals, clowns, lunch and a fun filled day.
Athletes and Kids at St. John's University: This is a hands on experience for the children to learn about team sports and get to participate on the court/field both individually and in small groups with Scholar-Athletes. Many of the St. John's University community have expressed a desire to also become Community Mayors/Associate Mayors upon graduation.
The Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum: Special children visit the famous aircraft carrier and experience an exciting day of “living history,” enjoy a movie, served lunch by McDonalds or Restaurants Associates and are entertained by clowns.

The Dominick Della Rocca Summer Camp Scholarship Fund:Each child awarded the scholarship attends a sleep away camp of their choice for one to three weeks. This teaches the children independence and builds their self esteem. Because of the success of this project, the Community Mayors is committed to its expansion.
